One of the most popular businesses in the Mission District, Medjool, is under threat.
Despite valid permits that date back to 2002, the San Francisco Planning Department has issued a notice of violation against the roofdeck portion of Medjool restaurant – one of its most popular features.
If Planning shuts down the roofdeck, Medjool would likely be forced to close. At least 62 employees and more than 153 family members would be devastated by this decision.
In these harsh economic times, with nearly 100 closed storefronts on Mission Street, is this the policy we want our city to be pursuing? Putting restaurants out of business, and workers out on the street?
